Honest comparison — Vowly vs Zola.
Zola is great if you want a registry-first US-centric wedding site. Vowly is great if you want a calmer, mobile-first invitation that ships in every country with WhatsApp previews, multi-event RSVP, and no subscription.
- You want a destination, multi-event, or culturally non-Western wedding
- You want a one-time payment instead of upsells over months
- You want a real RTL Arabic / Persian / Hindi invitation
- You care about how the invitation looks on WhatsApp, not just on email
- You want QR check-in at the door without buying separate hardware
- You want a US registry integrated with the site (Zola Registry is great)
- You want wedding-planning checklists, vendor lists, and a US-focused community
- You are comfortable with a registry-monetized free model
Good to know
Is Vowly really cheaper than Zola?
Different model: Zola is free upfront and monetizes through registry partnerships. Vowly is also free for small weddings, with a one-time per-wedding fee if you outgrow it. No subscriptions, no surprise renewals.
Can I import my guest list from Zola?
Yes — export your guest list as a CSV from Zola, then paste it into Vowly. Bulk-paste from WhatsApp also works.
Does Vowly have a registry?
Vowly supports any external registry as a link (Amazon, Bloomingdale's, Etsy, MyRegistry, even a UPI / IBAN). We do not have our own native registry.
Will my Zola URL keep working if I switch?
Zola URLs are zola.com/wedding/{slug}. Vowly cannot redirect those, but you can keep both live during your transition and point new invitations at your Vowly link.
